Want To Move But Have No Cash? 5 Tips To Make It Happen!

by Lucas Wendelton

Are you stuck in a small town with only elderly people and really need to get away? Do you work for minimum wage in a big city and live in a roach infested dump? It doesn’t matter what your reasons are, sometimes things just need to change a bit. So what do you do when you absolutely need to move but have a budget of one can of old tuna? The first thing you need to do is to take action, the rest you can fix as you move along. Read these tips to get the ball rolling.

1. Decide to move and act on it. Once you have decided, no more excuses. Work towards this goal and let nothing stop you. It is normal to have doubts at this stage, but you will be happy that you ignored them once you are done.

2. Start today and not tomorrow. Procrastination and laziness are your two greatest enemies. Almost everything you think you need to wait for will happen in the new place as well. If it is a person, they can join you later.

3. Find out what needs to be done to make this happen. Start checking for jobs before you move. Send out resumes. Consider your budget and think up things you can do to make it larger. Get a second job, get a roommate. Get rid of junk you don’t need to save on transportation costs. You can even make a bit of cash on selling stuff you do not need.

4. Do it NOW. Cancel your cable and phone. Tell your landlord that you are moving out. Put up posters about a garage sale where you get rid of all useless junk. Just start doing things to get you on the right track. Once you have a deadline it is easier to work towards it.

5. Use your network of friends. And friend of friends too for that matter. People are usually surprisingly helpful. And since you probably know one of those guys that always brags about his good friend that lives on Manhattan Island, maybe he could help out or shut up? See what people can do for you, but do not expect if for nothing. Offer to help out, clean and cook if yo crash at someones place. Try to not bee too much of a leech.
