I found a unique Tibetan carpet shop last week, which located in the northeast part of Beijing near the Fraternal Cooperation Hotel. They offer exquisite Tibetan handmade carpets and classical furniture to put in your home.
I saw a huge display of carpets and tapestries in that shop. All of them are soft and warm to the touch, and they have different beautiful colors and patterns.

I was initially attracted by its lamps, which were covered with wooden decorations. I liked it as this is not just art, but also useful. The solid wood was inlaid with strips of copper, silver, or silk. Traditional Chinese paintings nicely painted the lamps.
The shop owners, Mr. and Mrs. Xu graduated from Tsinghua Fine Arts Institute. They even have a small studio where everything is made. I like their paintings and classic style very much!
There are also many wood carvings, jade carvings, and stone paintings displayed in the shop. If you’d like to order some unique items, they can easily make almost anything for you. You shouldn’t miss this opportunity to make your favorite handmade lamps or carvings.
