They even have their own boat that takes you from the airport directly to Hayman. The journey over there is magnificent in itself, helped slightly by the continuous flow of champagne.
As you would expect, the facilities at Hayman are outstanding with every detail and every desire being catered for. There is plenty to keep you occupied on this private island. There are some great day trips including helicopter rides over the islands. Or why not enjoy diving or snorkeling in the waters surrounding Hayman.
You can expect to pay around $445 AUD per night. If that sounds far too reasonable and you have something even more luxurious in mind then I would consider Lizard or Wilson Island. These resorts are much smaller making them more exclusive and indulgent.
2) Enjoy A Ride On The Ghan
This is probably one of the most spectacular journeys you can do in Australia. It takes you all the way through the Outback and the Red Centre by train. The journey goes from Adelaide right up to Darwin via Alice Springs and Katherine. The scenery is totally unique and it will give you a true sense of how big Australia really is.
The train journey on the Ghan takes 48 hours and costs approx. $2000 AUD for a luxury cabin. This is one experience you won’t want to miss.
3) Moondance Lodge – Enjoy Australian Wine
Arguably the best wine Region in Australia, the Margaret River is a great destination if you intend to visit the quieter West Coast of Australia. It is just 3 hours south of Perth and offers the visitor a unique experience. Not only can you enjoy the fine wines, you can also indulge in sumptuous food served by many of the wineries and then relax on the nearby pristine beaches.
The best place to stay in the Margaret River is Moondance Lodge. It is set on a lake not far from the town of Margaret River, giving you access to all that the region has to offer. The facilities are excellent and they offer great day trips and Australian experiences. Their spa facilities are also fabulous.
How to Experience luxury on a budget
There are still ways of experiencing a slice of luxury even if you are on a budget. Why not treat yourself to just one or two nights at a fancy resort rather than your entire trip. Make it a surprise for your other half and put the passion back into your relationship.
What about planning a special day? A great idea is to pack a luxury picnic and enjoy some wonderful views. In Sydney you can hire a boat at Rose bay and cruise the Sydney harbour. No prior sailing knowledge is necessary and there are plenty of bays you can stop off at to enjoy your picnic.
